How Nick Started the New Year...The Winter Classic

So this year, the NHL held the Winter Classic in Boston at Fenway Park. Nick had to work on New Year's Day, but he got to help field produce WHDH's coverage of the event (read: hang out at Fenway, watch the hockey game, have a press pass that allowed him access to the field/rink and throughout the stands, get up close and personal with Bruins and Flyers players, etc.).

Although it was cold, Nick had a great time and didn't really consider the day "work". Ahhh...the perks of working for a TV station.

Nick showing his loyalty to the Blackhawks...who were not playing that day.

The rink (all these photos were taken by Nick, thanks to his media pass and access to the field)

Nick hanging out on the field.

Yep.. Nick was that close (this is practice, not the actual game).

Watching the game from up in the stands.

And finally, some photos of Nick "working."

And yes, Nick did get on the ice, just barely, but he said he had to do it.

(Those are his feet.)
