Número Due :: 38 weeks, Here we go?

So we are now 38 weeks pregnant. I literally could go into labor at any minute...so if course we had a jam packed weekend complete with a wedding in Santa Barbara and a ballet recital.

On Friday we drove up to Santa Barbara (taking Número Due/Chaos' car seat with us...just in case) for the wedding of one of my oldest and dearest friends. And also my prom date. The wedding was on Saturday night and my parents also attended (Ellie was babysat by my aunt and uncle, having family nearby really is awesome). The wedding was amazing, despite the fact that due to the rain the ceremony was held inside (which actually made it more intimate and added to the awesomeness). I wore heels...I can't wait to tell Chaos that in the same week I put on a hard hat and steel toes boots I also wore heels and danced at a wedding. We had a great time and are so happy for the newlyweds.

That's me with one of my oldest and dearest friends. Also my prom date, fellow HS band member, lab partner, study abroad buddy, and...well I could go on for a while. I'm just really happy for him and his new wife (who is absolutely amazing and perfect for my friend).

Then we woke up very early on Sunday to drive back to Pasadena as Ellie had her first ballet recital! She was nervous but very excited. We practiced and she was prepared. She was especially excited that as part of the costume she got to wear makeup. A little eyeliner, shadow, mascara and of course mommy's sparkly lip gloss that she has been eyeing in my makeup drawer for a while.

The recital itself was great. There were a total of six acts. The first act was her teacher and friend doing a special performance. Then the acts went from the youngest to the oldest group. The theme was Tales from Beatrix Potter and everyone was a different character from the stories. Ellie was part of the floppy bunnies group.

All the kids did a great job. We are a bit biased, but think Ellie did the best in her group. Her practice definitely paid off. Plus she looked adorable. She was so happy and proud of her performance.

And we made it through the ballet recital...pfew. Chaos listened to me and agrees to my plan that we would get through this weekend and then he was welcome to come out and play.

We are ready. We have washed, sanitized, folded, organized, shopped and done everything we can think if to be ready to welcome him. Nick added a few final Superhero touches to his room last week. And so now his room is complete as its going to get for now.

So now we are in waiting mode. I have aligned my ducks at work. We have friends and family on call to help pick up or watch Ellie if needed. So as ready as we are going to get for Chaos to make his debut.

And a 38 week picture, it's a bonus, you get Nick in it too!
