Ellie's Mornings

Everyday Nick takes Ellie to school in the morning, he takes the time to take a few quick snapshots of her at daycare and then sends the photos, with a quick blurb to our families (grandparents and aunts). I think the grandparents think he is the best son/son-in-law and dad in the world. I'm not sure how it started, I think Ellie did something funny one day and he sent a photo of it to everyone. And its continued everyday since...for over a year now. Each day at work, I wait for that e-mail so that 1) I can see what outfit creation Nick came up with, 2) How bad or good of a hair day she is having 3) See photos of Ellie playing with friends who leave school before Ellie does, and therefore I don't get to see, and 4) Distract myself from work for a few minutes to look at adorable and funny photos of Ellie.

The following is an e-mail Nick sent this past week.

Subject: Orange you glad...

E-mail Body: ...they're washable?

Ellie had fun coloring with the orange marker that she chose out of the entire box of eight (a sign of good taste?). She gave the rest of the markers to a friend and proceeded to mostly color her fingers and hands.

Before that there was some pasta play.

Every once in a while, when the stars align and Ellie is in a good mood, happy to see me, her friends are in a good mood and happy to see me, there is time before we have to rush out of school before they close, and Ellie is excited to go home, I can get a photo or two of her in the evening (its always interesting to see if I pick her up in the same clothes that Nick dropped her off in). I got the following two photos last Friday, when two of Ellie's closest friends wanted to help put on her hat and mittens before we left school.
